Vasily Lomakin (pseudonym) was born in Moscow. He graduated from the Chemical Faculty of Moscow State University. Since 1991 he lives in the USA. Works at the National Institute of US Cancer in Frederick (Maryland), studying human retroviruses. The first publication took place in 2002 in the Internet magazine "TextOnly", then in the "Mitin Journal". The first book of poems "Russian shadows" came out in 2004, the second "subsequent texts" appeared in 2012 and was awarded the Andrei White Prize.
The book contains an abnormative vocabulary.
Vasily Lomakin is a rare case of a pronounced author-loner. From 1991 he lived in the United States since 1991, it works in the region far from literature - and only in August 2002 his verses were first represented by readers in the Internet magazine "Textonly", and then appeared in the new issue of the Mitinjourna . These two publications led the 45-year-old debutant to the Andrei White Prize short list for 2003. Already the early (late 1980s) verses of Lomakin, written before the emigration, produce a strong impression of a constant appeal to the topic of their country and their people who have seen as if already from distance, but not because of the ocean, and God comes from. The farther, the tougher and the pain becomes this view - distanced, but not third parties
