At the end of the XIX century, young artists began to look for their ways in painting. At the same time, an Abramtsevsky circle was formed, nominated new tasks that are not inherent in the camaraderie program. And next - in the 1900s - for the first time in Russian artistic life, an abundance of various associations arose: they all opposed their programs, manifestos, platforms.
In this most complex setting on two poles - in Moscow and St. Petersburg - two large art associations were formed: the world of art and the Union of Russian artists.
