The Russian Museum of Emperor Alexander III (since 1917 - the State Russian Museum) was the first state museum of national visual art in Russia. The basis of this book was the publication of 1904, prepared by the famous art historian, an expert of Russian art by Baron Nikolai Nikolayevich Wrangela (1880-1915) In the process of work, the author used materials from the periodicals, monographs, directories, archival documents and information about the paintings provided by the artists themselves.
