The book includes selected articles written by the author in different years and dedicated to lexicographic works, which influenced the processes of the formation of Russian lexicography in the XVIII century and on the emergence of the first explanatory dictionary of the Russian language - the dictionary of the Russian Academy of 1789-1794. Separate articles are devoted to the analysis of the lexicographic collections of the XVIII century as sources of "dictionary of the Russian language of the 18th century"
