Do supporters of the rule of law have any historical reference points in the domestic history? If the construction of such a state was limited to only a few unsuccessful attempts, then why, due to what factors, did they turn out to be such? Have these factors persisted to this day or have they undergone any changes? Have new circumstances emerged that are more favorable for the establishment of a legal type of statehood? This book, which includes a report by legal scholar and historian A.N. Medushevsky and materials from his discussion in the 'Liberal Mission' foundation, attempts to answer these and other questions.
