The textbook was developed in accordance with the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard for General Education, approved by Order of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation No. 286 dated 31.05.2021. The textbook, part of the educational system "UMK 'Elementary School of the XXI Century'", includes the following thematic blocks: "How Our Language Works", providing the basics of linguistic knowledge, "Spelling", developing skills in correct writing, "Speech Development", where systematic work with text, its structure, and types of texts is organized for the first time. The content of the textbook allows for differentiated and individualized learning: in addition to the material for mandatory assimilation, there are topics of introductory nature.
