The collective monograph "FOOD IN RUSSIAN THROUGH THE LANGUAGE MIRROR" was written by researchers from different countries (Austria, Russia, Switzerland) and is dedicated to the analysis of the Russian food discourse. The study was conducted based on a corpus of texts of various functional-genre affiliations: spoken language, street language, written journalistic texts, food advertising, product packaging texts, etc. Modern 'food texts' are compared with speech materials from the recent past - in particular, the role of the food theme in the political propaganda of the Soviet era is examined. The book analyzes the food concept sphere in various aspects. The linguistic approach serves as a common starting point. However, the study is also oriented towards examining 'related' sociolinguistic, linguacultural, and ethnocultural issues in the study of food discourse. For philologists-Slavists, specialists working in the field of sociolinguistics, cognitive linguistics, and speech communication, the book may be of interest. It may also be of interest to anthropologists, sociologists, culturologists, and advertising specialists.
