The work of the military theorist and historian Nikolai Nikolaevich Golovin (1875-1944) is dedicated to the study of the Russian counterrevolutionary movement, which underwent a complex development path. Describing the events that took place on the historical stage from the beginning of the revolution (March 1917) until the end of 1918, the author focuses readers' attention on the proper interpretation of the word 'counterrevolution', understanding it as one of the sides of the dialectically developing process of revolution. The work is divided into five parts:
First part. The emergence of the counterrevolution and its first outbreak (books 1 and 2).
Second part. The Bolshevik coup turns the counterrevolution into an anti-Bolshevik movement (books 3, 4, and 5).
Third part. Intervention of enemies and allies (books 6 and 7).
Fourth part. Liberation of Siberia and the formation of the 'White' Eastern front of the civil war (books 8 and 9).
Fifth part. Liberation of the Don and Kuban regions and the formation of the 'White' Southern front of the civil war (books 10, 11, and 12).
Readers are offered the second volume, which includes the third to fifth parts of the work.
