Gavriil Belyak - philologist, research fellow at the Institute of Russian Literature (Pushkin House) of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Areas of scientific interest: hermeneutics, theory of myth, philosophy of technology, Digital Humanities. The book 'Russian Cosmological Novel of the 20th Century' is a study of two interconnected tendencies characteristic of 20th century literature: interest in myth-making and the desire to create an original cosmology - a unified picture of the world and humanity. Author analyzes six major works of the novel genre, in which myth-making is one of the key principles determining the poetics of the text, directly aimed at expressing the cosmological consciousness of the corresponding era. Novels by Andrei Bely, Andrei Platonov, Vladimir Nabokov, Andrei Bitov, Vadim Nazarov, and Victor Pelevin are examined from the perspective of myth-making strategies of the authors, closely related to the nature of the myths they create.
