'The moral dissatisfaction of the scientist continuously grows and is nourished by the events of the world environment. This dissatisfied feeling of moral responsibility for what is happening cannot disappear from the historical arena without attempts to implement it,' wrote V.I. Vernadsky, academician, founder of the doctrine of the biosphere, one of the leading thinkers of 'Russian Cosmism'.

Meanwhile, scientific thinking must answer the main questions about the role and purpose of man on Earth and the place of intelligent life in the Universe, Vernadsky said.
