The monograph of the outstanding philologist and Styhovheda K.F. Tarananovsky "Russian Dimensions", published for the first time in the Russian language, has already managed to play a prominent role in the period of reviving the Russian echoral tradition in the 60s of the XX century. K.F. Taranovsky performed a large-scale rhythmic survey of all Yambic and ferret sizes, starting from the 1740s and to the second half of the XIX century. On the material of 300,000 poetry lines, it described the rhythmic features of each classic size in the work of each poet and with the help of accurate quantitative methods identified one of the most important seizures of Russian classical verses - accent dissimulation. The continuation and development of research initiated in the "Russian jumped sizes" is reflected in the six articles added to the book of Taranovsky, dedicated to important problems of literary and folk verses.
The book published significantly complements the previously published collection of works by K.F. Taranovsky "about poetry and poetics in relation to his purely echoing work. It will take its place among the fundamental work on Russian hihovation and will be in demand as a source of data describing the dynamics of the formation and development of the Russian verse.
