The task of collective work is to comprehend the concept of "Russian art" as a cultural construct. Defining the boundaries of this concept requires special research (or a complex of research), but the materials presented in this publication contribute to achieving this goal. Each of the articles is dedicated to a specific work or group of works within a broad time frame (from the late 15th to the mid-20th century), but together they form a coherent discussion on phenomena in the history of Russian art related to the global artistic process. This publication is aimed at historians, art historians, and all those interested in the history of Russian culture and art.
