A collection of prose by Andrei Desnitsky "Russian Amsterdam" is dedicated to the history and modernity of our country. What are we today, why are we so different, could we become different? Can we understand each other? This is his stories. And what do we look when we get into a completely different environment? The story "Russian Amsterdam" is the story of a young Russian guy who fell into this European city in the last days of 1991. The author himself lived there for about a year in the early nineties, but in the story there are no portraits of real people - rather, a portrait of that era is given in it. Whatever Desnitsky writes about, his prose is thoughtful and kind. He does not give out assessments, but calls the reader to look at the faces and fate of his heroes so that the reader can understand something important to himself
