The book explores the satirical graphic journalism of the Balkan Crisis period of 1875-1878. The authors focus on the information confrontation regarding the Eastern Question and the Balkan vector of Russia's foreign policy, reflected in political caricatures in the Russian, British, French, Austrian, and German press. The authors demonstrate that the information confrontation of independent and to varying degrees successful projects of 'caricature wars' was a way of self-identification of public sentiments in different countries, and the mutual exchange of plots, themes, and images of political caricature became an important condition for gaining an information advantage in the 'journalistic wars' for public opinion. This publication is intended for researchers, teachers, students, and all those interested in the history of foreign policy, public opinion, and political caricature.
