Running is one of the most striking works of M.A. Bulgakov, which, like many other works, never saw the light during the life of the author. Disputes about him already in the early thirties passed into a purely political plane. According to “responsible” workers, the run idealized emigration and was “harmful to the Soviet viewer”. This play Bulgakov said goodbye to old Russia, and, as he understood, forever. Saying goodbye, he asked the questions: what happened to Russia, why the Russians destroyed each other, whether the expulsion returned to their homeland, who freely or involuntarily fell into the maelstrom of tragic events.
