The proposed manual, intended for a wide range of people studying English, discusses the rules for reading English words (British and American pronunciation options).
In the text of the manual, the rules are equipped with explanations and selections of examples of mainly from the number of 15,000 the most common words selected according to the Collins Cobuild English Dictionary. In the form accessible to the wide reader, descriptions of the pronunciation of English sounds are given.
The form of filing the material through schemes, tables and examples is due to the fact that the understanding of "through an example" occurs often faster than as a result of verbal explanations, and knowledge of examples creates a practical base for using them as analogues in subsequent work.
The main goal of this manual is to develop readiness to understand the sounding speech and skills of proper reading, i.e. reproduction of precisely those sounds that are readable words. The skills of perception of real speech, the purity of pronunciation, the correctness of intonations, etc. It is advisable to improve using modern audio and video tools
