In the proposed manual intended for a wide range of people studying English, the rules for reading English words (British and American pronunciation options) are considered.
In the text, the rules are provided with explanations and selection of examples predominantly from among the 15,000 most common words selected by the Collins Cobuild English Dictionary. A description of the pronunciation of English sounds available to a wide reader.
The form of submission of material through schemes, tables and examples is due to the fact that an understanding of "through an example occurs often faster than as a result of verbal explanations, and knowledge of examples creates a practical base for use as analogs in subsequent work.
The main goal of this manual is to develop readiness for understanding the sounding speech and the skills of the right reading, i.e., the playback of those sounds from which readable words consist. Skills of perception of real speech, cleanliness of pronunciation, correctness of intonation, etc. It is advisable to improve using modern audio and video services
