The action of the novel Children of Roses of the famous English writer, poetess, translators of Russian poetry Elaine Finstine occurs in 1970. But the heroes of the novel, Alex Mendez and his former wife Lyalka, who fled from Poland, does not allow peace of the memory of the Holocaust. Alex wants to understand the nature of Evil and reads Maimonide. Lyalka forbids himself to remember the Holocaust. Meanwhile, English aristocrats invade Alex: Lee Walsh and her lover Joe Lacy. For them, the children of the Youth Revolution of 1968, the Holocaust does not mean anything, only the situation of the third world countries and the fight against the bourgeoisie are worried. Lyalka in an attempt to return to the past rides in Poland. And although the Holocaust is behind, new tragedies are inevitable
