This is a novel about the post -revolutionary events of 1918-1920 in the Urals. According to eyewitnesses, the memoirs of direct participants and archival documents, the author recreates a picture of a popular split in the east of Russia during the Civil War, when not only nobles, but also a significant part of workers and peasants, including the poorest layers, opposed the Bolsheviks. The writer considers the fratricidal war as the tragedy of the Russian people, sharing the deadly hostility of fathers and children, brothers and sisters, friends, fellow countrymen. The action of the novel unfolds on the territory of the current Verkhotursky, Irbitsky, Alapaevsky, Rezhevsky, Berezovsky, Nyazepetrovsky, Verkh-Nerevinsky and Nizhnyvinsky and Nizhnytagilsky districts, going far beyond the Ural borders, following the heroes of leading the reader to Eastern Siberia and Transbaikalia. All the events described in the book are genuine, and its characters are really existing people
