The epic novel in two books "Time of Troubles", created in 1980-1982 as a prose writer, publicist, translator, researcher of the folklore heritage of the Kazakhs Mukhtar Magauin, tells about the events of the late XVI and early XVIII century in the Kazakh steppe and Muscovy, about the first attempts to establish friendly relations between the two peoples.
In 1594, the first embassy from the Kazakh steppes arrived in Moscow. The intermediaries were the Sultan Ora-Muhamed and a wonderful scientist, the thinker Kadyrgali Jalair.
