The action of the novel begins on March 14, on International Day of the "Pi". A young historian, a researcher at one of the museums of St. Petersburg, seems to conduct an ordinary study. He is interested in a strange similarity in biographies and the main milestones of the reign of three Russian sovereigns - Ivan the Fourth Terrible, Peter the Great and Paul. The historian tells about his guesses to the backward military who works in the protection of the museum - and from that moment their fate is inextricably linked. Without knowing it, the historian disturbed the secret, for which they have been hunting for more than two and a half thousand years around the world, and to solve it in St. Petersburg.
Heroes are forced not only to crunch with brains, but also to hide: the powerful special services, adherents of the ancient knightly orders and the leaders of the secret world government go along their track.
