The seventeenth century turned out to be stormy in the history of England. In 1649, Cromwell"s rebels publicly chopped off Charles I head, and in 1660 the son of the monarch, Charles II, ascended the throne. In order to put an end to the circulation of reprisals, a law was adopted, granting forgiveness to all participants in the civil war. Everyone except those who signed the death sentence to the king.
These people are pursuing, catching and exposing a brutal execution. Two of them, loyal supporters of Cromwell, Colonels Edward Wally and William Goff, saving life, run to the very ends of the world. But even there, they do not hide from the insightful Richard Nayler, an official of a secret council who has personal scores for the regicide.
