Middle of the XVII century. Knowing about the critical state of health of the Polish king Vladislav IV, Queen Maria Gonzag with all his might organizes the search for a possible contender for the throne of the king. The Sejm turns his eyes to the Transylvanian Prince Lyubos. Moreover, Transylvania can become a reliable ally of Poland, replacing France weakened in a long -term war.
At the same time, the general clerk of the register of Cossacks, Colonel Bogdan Khmelnitsky, leads a complex and dangerous diplomatic game. Moving on a sense of revenge for his son killed by the Poles and taken by his wife, as well as the desire to free Ukraine from any form of dependence and oppression, he is planning to raise the All -Ukrainian Antipolian uprising.
