IV century BC Alexander, the son of the Macedonian king Philip, finally inherited power, but in a long -awaited event, joy mixed with bitterness. Alexander is sad about the father who died at the hands of the killers, and remembers his words, said shortly before his death: Power is not a cheerful pier, but an honorary captivity.
The “shackles of power” are heavy, but this severity is feasible for someone who is born to become a great conqueror. Such a person will not be frightened by the whole military power of the Persian power and will not embarrass the warning words of the philosopher Diogenes: You do not have the strength to reach the edge of the world, to conquer the whole Oykumen. But the forces have to be spent not only on war. They are needed to enjoy victories and taste the benefits from them - to become a true ruler, having established order in the conquered land ... There is enough strength for this? And will they remain to ever return to Macedonia?
