The collection presents the works of the outstanding German Romanist Wilhelm Gauf (1802–1827), reflecting the various faces of his talent: published in Russian in full form of three copyright cycles of fairy tales, among which are the treasury of world literature on the history of Califier, the Kalifa-Aista, Dwarf nose, little torment and Peter-Cauline, the novel “Phantasmagoria in the Bremen Vinn Cellard”, imbued with memories of the funny student years that the writer spent in Tubingen, and at the same time complete incredible incidents, finally, the novel “Liechtenstein”, where against the backdrop of violent Historical events - the struggle of Ulrich, the Duke of Württemberg, with the powerful Swabian Union and the Bavarian Duchy - the romantic love story of the faithful supporter of the Duke Maria von Lichtenstein and the knight George von Sturmfheder unfolds.
