The events described in the novel occur in 1883 in the snowy Icelandic outback, in the southwest of the country. In the plot, the fate of the three main characters in an unexpected manner is unexpected: Friedrika, who once studied abroad in Denmark, the Abbe-a girl with a Down syndrome, who was found on the victim’s coast of Iceland, and a priest of the local parish of Baldur Skyggson, a great lover of a fox of hunting .
