The collection published historical evidence of the first years of the life of the socialist state, the so -called “Russian notebooks” and the famous “ten days that shocked the world” of American journalist John Reed. The Russian philologist and translator Abel Isaakovich Startsev examined the notebooks of the journalist who had laid down half a century in the American archive and, in fact, the chronicler of the first days of the October Revolution in Petrograd 1917. These unknown notes, as well as the memoirs of Reed’s wife, Louise Brian, his friends and acquaintances allowed the author of the author of “ten days that shocked the world”
