Russia on Murman

Grand Duke Ivan III sends a large army to Kayano-Ozero, the north of the Baltic, to return the local Karelian population to his sovereign’s hand and show the Swedes to whom this land actually belongs to ancient treaties. On a campaign, along with the noble son Palitsyn, his young pupil Mitrokh Khabarov goes. Along the way, the lad intends to solve the secret of the death of his ancestor on the far shore of the native sea, in the land of lapans, who is lying with a tribe of mighty sorcerers. He still does not know what will be forever connected with this northern edge-Murman, on its first and one ataman of the half-servant-half-leaf freight, and then a hermit monk-the future holy Trifon Pechensky. The deadly battle with the Lop sorcerers will come together, trying to tear out the murman from the power of ancient demonic forces, and the monastery founded by him from the Arctic Ocean will become a large trade and commercial factor, combat fortress and the epicenter of the struggle between Russians, Swedes, Norwegians, and Danes for this cold land and his wealth
