Snow is everywhere. Written in Paris, sprinkles in Amsterdam, covers London. The storm forces the 18-year-old Samantha to stay for a day in an unfamiliar city, in the capital of Great Britain. For this day, she lives a whole life: first, two young people save the girl from robbery, then one of them falls in love with her, and then ... the British queen dies.
Francois Plas taught readers to fantasy, fairy tales and adventures, but now he seems to offer us a typical youthful novel about first love, random meetings and forced partings. But everything is not so simple. Dozens of ordinary and not quite ordinary events occur per day in snowy London. One of the cameras captures the meeting of Samantha with a small Indian boy Khan, and nearby - something similar to the ghost of the tiger. The detectives of Emma Hardy and Stewart Nigel at an impasse: they are investigating an attack on an elderly woman, but all reasonable explanations endure collapse.
In this almost real story, there is still a subtle raid of science fiction - or fairy tales in reality. Without it, neither detectives, nor Samantha, nor readers do not solve everything that is happening. And love, meetings, partings? Who knows, maybe they are most important!
"Queen under the snow" is completely unlike the historical fantasy Francois Plaza, the prisoner of the twelve provinces in the "Komapasgida" translated by the same Nina Khotinskaya or the play "Marquis Kit de la Balen" translated by classic Mikhail Yutnov. Nevertheless, the hand of the master is recognizable: the same flying letter, the same atmosphere and picturesqueness, the same childhood faith in miracles. And for sure, adolescents and young adults will love this book just as they loved the "prisoner".
