One of the main works of the writer Nikolai Grigoryevich Samvelyan (1936-1992) is the novel "Muscovy The Mysterious Ambassador" On the stay of the Russian first printer Ivan Fedorov in Lviv, the creation of a printing house there, which printed books for Russia, Ukraine, Belarus. So Ivan Fedorov carried enlightenment to these Slavic countries. The book is written in an action -packed, almost detective genre, many historical persons and events are involved. The image of the Enlightener himself, his tireless work and disinterestedness, is clearly given. Roman was highly appreciated by Academician D. S. Likhachev, his afterword is given at the end of the book.
N. G. Samvelan has many merits to perpetuating the memory of the first printer, largely thanks to his enthusiasm in Lviv, the Ivan Fedorov Museum was opened in the Onufrievsky monastery - the place of his last stay and burial. Unfortunately, in 1991 the museum was evicted from the monastery, many exhibits were destroyed.
This book is a tribute to respect for the historical and cultural heritage of Russia, its role in the education of the Orthodox countries of Europe
