The novel covers the period of our history from 1919 to 1945. The main character, an officer of counterintelligence of the General Staff of the Russian Army, becomes an officer of Soviet intelligence. Iran (Persia), Sweden, again Iran, Germany - this is the geography of his foreign activity, which is closely intertwined with the events within the country: the capacity of the King of the bandits of Moscow Koshelykov, the service in the protection of the first persons of the state, participating in the liquidation of the gang of Ukrainian nationalists. The tragic events of Soviet history could not help but touch the hero: this is a distrust of him as a “former”, and arrest during the Stalinist repressions. Of course, in the novel there is a place for love and family relationships. The author made an attempt to create an image not of some Superman, but an ordinary intelligence officer who honestly served both pre-revolutionary Russia and the Soviet Russia.
