Jin Webster (1876-1916) - American writer. She gained fame thanks to the release of her work “Long-legged Uncle” (1913), which was enthusiastically meeting with readers, critics and directors of theater and film. The main character Judy Abbot- the pupil of the orphanage- was incredibly lucky: the mysterious well-wisher is ready to pay for the girl’s training in college, demanding in return just to write him letters about everyday life and study. A lively, with a strong and independent character, Judy fulfills this request, until the very end of the training, without realizing who he is - this mysterious trustee. Here Sally Macbrade, Judy"s friend, is taken to turn an orphanage into a cozy house for hundreds of pupils. Both works are filled with live humor and optimism, which is naturally woven into the life and life of the main characters.
