Nikolai Pavlovich Zadornov (1909-1992) - a famous Russian writer, Honored Culture Worker of the Latvian SSR (1969) His pen belongs to two large cycles of works on the development of Siberia and the Far East by Russian pioneers in the 19th century. “Golden Figure” is a continuation of the well-known novel “Amur-Batyushka”. In recent decades of the 19th century, rich gold placers have been discovered at numerous cupid trims. Disaders persecuted by need and deprivation of immigrants with whole villages went to the taiga to wash noble metal. Here and here, in the depths of the Amur forests, the fraternal republics of prospectors arose with their laws and rulers. Some of them even entered into an open struggle with the tsarist authorities. The life of one of these republics is described in the novel
