“Egyptian” (1945) is the historical novel of the Finnish writer Mick Valtari (1908-1979), who became a bestseller and translated into more than thirty languages of the world.
Mika Valtari managed to create a work that attracts not only exciting plot dosages and reliable historical surroundings, but also a sense of involvement in the events that took place in ancient Egypt during the reign of the reformer of Akhenaten and his royal wife Neferthyti. The effect of presence is achieved in many ways, thanks to the confessive nature of the narrative, since the main character, the doctor Sinukha, writes the story of his life only for himself and for himself.
