The novel of the modern Swedish writer Ernst Brunner is dedicated to the Finnish Swedish poet of the beginning of the 20th century Edith Sidergran (1892-1923) The native of St. Petersburg wrote poetry in the Swedish language and spent her creative life in a small Karelian village of Raivol on the territory of the Grand Duchy of Finland, where its poetic collections were printed. The short life of Edith Sidergran and the formation as later glorified by the expressionist poetess coincided with dramatic events in Russia and the world, which is clearly reflected by the author in the novel.
