The reign of Catherine II is a whole era, which is described so much, but we do not know so much about Catherine itself, her private life. What is customary to talk about as the events of well -known ones can actually turn out to be only rumors that have gone during the life of the Sovereign. This is reminded by the writer-historian Petr Krasnov, wanting to show in his novel a more reliable image of this woman.
