In the novel Black Countess", Mark Kazarnovsky describes the events of the late XIX - early XX centuries - the time of a powerful burst of terrorism, a rampant violence, which swept the ninth rampart in the Russian Empire. Young people from different segments of the population, trying to find their place in life, longing for romance, took part in the murder of high -ranking officials, members of the royal family.
The main character of the book is the young graduate of the Smolny Institute of noble girls who loved a person from the people, a member of the combat group, and dividing his fate, who knew the bitterness of losses, the hardships of the royal hard labor and miraculously avoided the arrest in the state of the Soviets.
