The exciting novel tells about the heroic defense of the first Russian fortified settlement on the Amur. The Albazinsky prison was founded in the middle of the 17th century persecuted east in search of free life by Russian people - fugitive Cossacks, among whom were participants in the uprising of Stepan Razin, various adventurers, poor farmers. The tsarist authorities, in order not to spoil relations with neighboring China, who also claimed these lands, did not recognize Albazine for a long time, but its inhabitants continued to consider themselves subjects to Russia, sent a fur tribute to the center and bravely defended the fortress from the multiple -superior forces of the formidable neighbor. Alas, in 1689, the Moscow state and the Qing Empire entered into a Nerchinsk agreement under which the Russians should have been forced to leave the Amur lands ...
