In the book you will find the last two novels Amelie Notomb: “Aerostats” and “First Blood”.
In “balloons”, Noto depicts a 19-year-old student and a 16-year-old schoolboy-they are inquisitive, stubborn, both in their own way are unhappy and unhappy and not free. Their acquaintance begins with the discussion of “Iliad” and “Odyssey”, and ends with a tragedy.
“The first blood” - the life of the life of Father Amelie notot, told from his point of view. The author retrospectively shows how a person grows out of a sad pampered boy who is ready to stand under the muzzle of rifles to protect another.
Despite all the differences, both works - about youth, about the value of life, about the inevitability of death. In both novels, Notomb easily destroys the illusion of everyday security, pointing the reader to the abyss, which suddenly appears at the extended arm
