The first novel of the playwright, poet, essay, critic, literary critic and scriptwriter Venko Andonovsky (born 1964) was published in 1994. Act took place in 863 AD, when a strange icon painter Isan came to the Monastery in Asia Minor. In the heads of the scribes of liturgical books, he arouses thoughts about the possibility and even the need to retreat from the canon. Turning to the history of the creation of the Slavic alphabet, the author offers his own artistic version of events, creates skilled stylization with elements of myth and literary game. Each chapter of the novel is dedicated to one letter of the alphabet. Andonovsky leads the reader to the idea that blind copying kills creativity and individuality, moves away from beauty, spirituality and from himself. The publication is addressed to all fans of modern Macedonian prose
