Friedrich Schiller (1759-1805) contemporaries called the poet of freedom and the fiery defender of the human person. The philosopher, theorist of art, the playwright, the author of the famous "OD to joy", laid on the music by Beethoven, a friend of the great Goethe, he was an inspired expressant of the ideals of the Epoch of Enlightenment. This book includes the most famous plays Schiller - "Robbers", which during the years of the French revolution Schiller was awarded the honorary title of a citizen of the French Republic, as well as "Deceit and love" - a story about the tragic fate of young people, aristocrats and a simple girl, whose happiness destroyed low intrigues. These essays are considered to be the top of German dramaturgy and are not going with the scenes of the whole world for more than two centuries. From the performances of recent years, the Robbers, delivered by Vasily Vashatov in the Moscow theater named after Pushkin, as well as "Covaria and Love" in the St. Petersburg Theater of Europe, where the main roles are performed by Elizabeth Boyarskaya and Danil Kozlovsky
