The publication is dedicated to the most important issue for the healthcare sector - the rights of doctors, which are currently clearly underestimated and forgotten. The starting point of the research is the lack of balance and complementarity between the rights of patients and the rights of doctors. The existing imbalance in favor of the duties of medical workers does not contribute to the improvement of the quality and safety of medical care, especially in conditions of extreme overload of medical workers and their weak social and legal protection. The book presents a detailed breakdown of the elements of the legal status of doctors - their professional, labor, social, and pension rights. Many positions are referenced to the guarantees enshrined in Russian and foreign legislation. The book explains in detail the doctor's right to refuse to participate in certain medical interventions, the right to refuse to treat a specific patient, and a number of other professional rights of doctors. It also shows the peculiarities of the legal status of doctors in times of war and armed conflicts. The references to legal acts are up to date as of January 9, 2019.
