Attached to the book is a poster with a diagram of the spaceship 'Astra'. This book is about the Director and Man Richard Nikolaevich Viktorov. Today, the audience remembers and loves not only his famous science fiction films 'Moscow-Cassiopeia', 'Boys in the Universe', 'Through the Thorns to the Stars', which opened up the dream of space to many generations, but also his early films 'The Third Rocket', 'Beloved', 'Transitional Age', 'Step Over the Threshold', and 'Obelisk'. In 1983, after the death of Richard Viktorov, actress Nadezhda Semyonova (Viktorova), the director's wife, began to collect his scattered diary entries, compiling a huge amount of photographs, articles, and reviews. And although it is said that a film director's creative legacy is his films, there were many interesting notes in the paper sources that revealed Richard's personality - the Man. It was then that the director's wife began to create the book that you, dear reader, are holding in your hands now. Richard Viktorov's credo was 'As a director, I love working on various genres and forms. I believe that the more complex, the more interesting, although you can break your neck. I only do not change my attitude towards the world, in which the main thing for me is the improvement of the human personality in the struggle of good against evil.' The book contains over three hundred pages of diaries and letters, storyboards, over four hundred photographs reflecting the stars and thorns of time.
