This is a story about how excessive greed leads to the death of hundreds of people.
In a southern Russian city, an earthquake occurred. According to the official version, the epicenter supposedly hit the newest residential complex called "Heaven", although the strongest tremors were felt in other parts of the city. Everything there remained intact, while all the buildings in "Heaven" were completely destroyed. There were a huge number of casualties and injuries. When the first tremors began, lawyer Artem Pavlov, unfortunately (or fortunately?), happened to be conducting an inspection of the implementation of a social program in this area. Finding himself amidst the ruins, he immediately joined the rescue efforts together with the EMERCOM doctor Veronika, her friend the Violinist, and volunteers.
Imagine their surprise when Pavlov pulled out from under the rubble a nearly naked man who turned out to be... the mayor of the city. He did not live in the collapsed house. Shortly after, a car with a security escort arrived for the official, and the police immediately cordoned off the rubble. At the mayor's request, the rescuers began searching for something. No, not people, but a very valuable item...
