The book describes the events that preceded one of the most tragic episodes of the modern Russian history - a fierce confrontation between Parliament and the President, who ended with the shooting of the White House in October 1993. In the early 1990s, a painful process of the formation of new forms of statehood was happening against the background of the collapse of the USSR, the catastrophic collapse of the economy and the degradation of morality, which led to a surge of crime and corruption, which tried to take key positions in power structures. This was opposed to security bodies, over the course of several years already, who were attacked by the radicals of all masters, exhausted by reorganizations and the loss of the prestige of the Chekist profession. But, as it always happens in history, there are quite a few people in this difficult period, in spite of themselves who self-deducting their debt, often with risk to the life of decisive tasks to ensure the security of the state, not passing before threats and not counting on awards.
The author and some of his colleague themselves were in the epicenter of the events that predetermined the documentary nature of the narration. Employees of the Ministry of Security and the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation did everything possible in order not to give organized crime, right-handed groups and representatives of foreign special services to realize their intentions. For known reasons, the names and surnames of some participants in the events are changed, and individual fragments of what is happening have an alleged sense. The book provides excerpts from genuine documents of the time, memories of participants in events and publication in the media, allowing to feel the spirit of the era
