The leadership discusses the often found in practice the renal complications of diabetes - diabetic nephropathy and acute pyelonephritis. The etiology of these complications and factors that contribute to their development are considered. A significant place is given to modern methods of diagnosis and treatment of diabetic nephropathy and acute pyelonephritis. The practical value of the early diagnosis of diabetic nephropathy and pyelonephritis is shown to prevent severe forms of kidney damage complicated by terminal renal failure and sepsis in patients with diabetes. The examination algorithm of patients, methods of studying kidneys and urinary tract, clinical and laboratory signs of acute pyelonephritis are given. Therapeutic tactics in acute pyelonephritis are described in detail. A separate chapter sets out the basics of intensive therapy for purulent-septic complications of acute pyelonephritis in patients with diabetes. Methods for the prevention of diabetic nephropathy and acute pyelonephritis in patients with diabetes are considered.
