Methods of remote sensing are represented and analyzed, developed in Western state and private companies, as well as Soviet specialists in the second half of the last century, for the search for oil and gas within the seas and oceans, including completely unexplored territories.
Increased interest in geological exploration work on the waters of the World Ocean is determined by the fact that their resources significantly exceed the remaining on continents, the magnitude of which is constantly reduced. In addition, these works in conditions of weak geological knowledge of these territories are highly developed, and the use of remote sensing provides significant savings in the means and more focused searches for hydrocarbons.
The publication gives a brief dispersion of the methods and methods of work, the results and evaluate their economic significance. It can be of interest to employees of civil service, overshadowing oil and gas operations, specialists of oil and gas companies, as well as for students of geological universities
