The monograph is devoted to one of the most mysterious books of mankind - the revelation of John the Theologian (Apocalypse of John) For two thousand years, this text has commented on countless theologians and Biblian scientists who gave the Apocalypse their interpretations. The book made an attempt to look at some of his images and plots from the point of view of mythology and world folklore. The analysis of the origins allows you to trace the development and transformation of ideas reflected in the text and propose your own option for reading one of the main images, a “wife clothed in the sun” and numerical symbols. At the same time, not so much specific images of the Apocalypse are understood as motives and plots, reflected in it. Highlighting the main motives of revelation, the author addresses many other texts that build their symbols on these motives.
