“Invented stories” by Lydia Zabarina are familiar to many of the Orthodox Samizdat, in publications in the magazine “Moscow”, in other publications, domestic and foreign, under the pseudonym of L. Shosta and without a signature. Their author, or rather, a collector, literary editor and distributor (in the old Soviet times) - Muscovite, was born in 1903. Her homemade books with pictures and funny signatures talked about how Orthodox people lived and believed in the 30-70s. last century.
All the stories included in the collection, with some exceptions, are either heard by the author directly from those people with whom the described events occurred, or they themselves were a participant. The collection also included Lydia Zabarina’s records of different years - fragments of the book “Big and Small”, which, like most of the stories, are published for the first time.
Lidia Sergeevna saw the features of the Providence of God in what was happening. She wrote her stories with a clean and clear syllable. This is high literature. And at the same time, there is no fiction in it
