R. Abraham ibn-Ezra (1089–1164)-philosopher, poet, mathematician and astronomer, philologist and, first of all, the great commentator of Scripture. He lived and worked in Muslim Spain, then forcedly left her and wandered from Egypt to Britain. He wrote in Hebrew, Arabic and Latin. Distinguished by historical and philological thoroughness, laconic style and critical spirit, Ibn ears comments to the Torah are not only widely known-they are studied almost along with the comments of Rashi. In the introduction to these comments, Ibn Eazra defines its goal as an independent study of the literal meaning of the biblical text. Comments of IBN EZRs are based primarily on etymological and grammatical interpretations, but not to a lesser extent on its personal ideas about the world. It is generally accepted that the r. Abraham Ibn Eazra penetrates the secrets of Scripture, not mystical, but accessible only to the great mind, burdened with many knowledge.
This translation is based on the most modern critical editions of the text. Comments are equipped with notes that explain the difficulties difficult for understanding the place or the concepts unfamiliar to the Russian reader. Earlier, within the framework of this multi-volume publication, the lengthy comments of Ibn Eazers to the first first books of the Pentateuch were light: Bereshit and Shdot. The latter - the third - the volume of the publications included comments on the last last books: Vaikra, Bemidbar and Dvarim. Since they are relatively small in volume, it is customary to issue them under one cover
